Enhancing a positive healing experience and confidence for those in need
KETIE D. SAINTELUS, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Ketie Saintelus is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner licensed by the state of New York to provide family-centered healthcare to patients of all ages. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management of common and complex medical and psychiatric care problems.
Her journey into the profession began when she first migrated to the US in 1989 with her parents. A teenager determined to succeed, she focused on her studies. In 1999, she graduated from the College of New Rochelle with her Bachelor’s in Nursing. After realizing that she wanted to do more for her patients, she returned to her studies and earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2006 with a concentration as an advanced practice nurse in family health at Long Island University. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she noticed a rise in mental health issues, so she decided to go back to SUNY Upstate University for her Post Master Certificate in Psychiatry. She has accumulated nearly twenty-two years of nursing experience and education in various areas of patient care, medically and psychiatrically, and has contributed to academia as an assistant professor at the Harriet Rothkopf Heilbrunn School of Nursing. She is currently pursuing her DNP at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Ketie Saintelus has a unique combination of strong nursing skills and the provision of quality client care. Her professional philosophy centers on equality for all. Her goals in practice are to treat everyone with respect and fairness regardless of their behavior, religion, race, or economic status. Her true desire is to enhance a positive healing experience and confidence for those in need. This desire is evidenced by the work she has done volunteering and giving back to her community.
Ketie not only has a fulfilling professional career, but she has a fruitful family life. As a wife and mother of 4, when not working with patients or giving back to her community, she can be found having dinner with friends or engaged in some type of fun activity, fundraising, or enjoying life with family and or friends.
